
TORONTO, Feb. 25, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sierra Gold Corporation (Other OTC:SGCP.PK - News) today announced that the January gold production from one of its sites yielded over 50 troy ounces of gold. Thirty-five tons of gravel have been extracted from another site and is currently being processed. Initial extraction numbers have demonstrated encouraging values, which will be reported upon completion.
Sierra Gold also would like to announce that the recently acquired Sierra Leone properties have also commenced gravel extraction as well as the property in Mali.
